Dear Colleague,
We are pleased to extend you a warm invitation to attend the '5th International Meeting of Charcoal Analysis: Charcoal as cultural and biological heritage' that will be held in Valencia from the 5th to the 10th of September 2011.

Our aim is to organize a congress program that reflects the interdisciplinary character of charcoal analysis, and we are confident that this meeting will introduce all current innovative issues of research in this field and will promote discussion and collaboration between our international colleagues.

All communications, posters and abstracts should be presented in English, that is the official language of the meeting.

Although we strongly recommend the use of English for discussion during the sessions, however, the participants may formulate questions, comments etc, in any other official language of the European Union at their convenience.

The extended abstracts of the approved oral and poster presentations will be published in a special volume of Saguntum, the journal of the Prehistory and Archaeology Department of the University of Valencia.
